got ink?
Michelle Malkin points us to a story of a 10 year old Montana girl who has a very clever idea on how to show support for democracy in Iraq...
It will symbolize our support if we wear ink on our fingers," Shelby said. "We're not forcing them to vote, but they have a chance to do it and they should take that chance."Shelby said Saturday afternoon she hoped to set up a stand at Rimrock Mall today where people could sign their names and roll their fingers on a stamp pad, but her plans were not yet inked.
She'd love to wake up Monday morning and see people around the United States with blue index fingers.
"Do you have your blue ink?" she asked. "It's food for thought."
Is your index finger blue yet? If you do, and have a digital camera, feel free to send us images..

my prediction?...middle purple fingers from the Liberal side...just watch.
Give 'em the finger.
Watch for the coming days of U.S. citizens actually staining their index fingers in blue/purple ink as a show of solidarity with the Iraqi people.
But I wonder what will happen if employees at University of Oregon (or at other state run offices) dipped their index fingers in purple/blue ink? It'll be "Oregon's Purple Streak" instead. And you know what else might happen? I bet those lefty Liberals will undoubtedly do the same thing except they'll dip their middle finger in the blue/purple ink. Just watch.

What an awesome way to show our support! From the mouths of babes, literally! Now where did I put the ink pad?

The picture of the Iraqi finger in the previous thread appears more purple than blue. So maybe we should get our fingers painted purple instead.
Also, if one combines Red with Blue, doesn't it form the color Purple? If I have that right, it's interesting symbolism. Showing that this should not be a partisan issue. Republicans (Red) and Democrats (Blue) should come together in support of the democracy that has taken root in Iraq on this historic day.

Great idea, and I had a chance to explain to my own 9-year-old daughter exactly what it means, as she looked at my (probably overly) blue-stained index finger.
Marvelous work, bloggers! I hope everybody takes the opportunity to do this!

We're working on a South Dakota state resolution to have our lawmakers dip their fingers in ink to symbolize their support for freedom
