Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback, who has a strong following among U.S. social conservatives, is mulling a run for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination.

One of several conservative Republican senators considering a 2008 presidential run, none -- including Virginia's George Allen and Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn. -- has carried the flag for cultural conservatives as unapologetically as Brownback has, Roll Call reported Monday.
