Really good speech!!

WOW!!
My wife was out of the room, so I had to roll the TIVO back for "the hug". We were both sitting here with tears streaming down our cheeks...
The speech itself was great. Strong case for SS reform, but in the end, all anyone will remember is "the hug".

Thanks for a great live blog. It was quite interesting to read this live blog, while watching it on C-Cpan.

Harry Reid is delivering the donk response. My question is why they don't just get behind the president, because he plans to do exactly what he is talking about. News flash, they oppose the President's plan for privatizing Social Security. He calls it Social Security roulette - LOL.

The troops being viewed as an occupiing force ??? Creating chaos ??? We did not hear a credible plan ??? Give me a break, already. Regional diplomacy must be intensified. Where was Clinton's diplomacy with Sadam ???

Democrats are committed to a strong national security and a military, second to none. Nancy, what did Clinton do, I ask you. Good night Nancy. - Finally - Sigh.

After listening to part of Harry's reply, it finally dawned on my why the Dems hate Bush so much: he's put them into a "no win situation" on almost every issue. And the reason for that is because he truly is a Compassionate Conservative.
When he coined the term he caught flak from the left and right. The right thought the term was redundant. Afterall what could be more compassionate than giving people greater control of their own lives. The left felt the two words were mutually exclusive. W has proven them wrong.
He's put the Dems into the unenviable position of opposing some of their "signature" issues.

Somewhere in Heaven, the spirit of Ronald Reagan is smiling and rejoiceing. Somewhere in D.C., John Kerry & Ted Kennedy are in a drunkin' rampage. God bless President George W. Bush, our military, and to all who support our president. And to the Democrats: sit down, shut up, and grow up!
