****BLOG SWARM NEEDED IMMEDIATELY****
Janeane Garofalo has stooped to a new all time low. In essence she has equated the "Inked Finger" show of solidarity with Iraqi voters to the salute of Nazi Germany under Hitler.

Her comments came on MSNBC's "After Hours".
For more on the history of the Inked Fingers read this.

Bravo on bringing this outrage to the attention of your readers. I've created a mirroring post, and will try to get all my modest traffic to join in to raising a uproar over this. A smackdown for Garofalo is long overdue, in my opinion.
I look forward to a mealy-mouthed apology via a type-written statement.

What a moron! She and others of her ilk want to continue to spout off, ignoring the Dalfur report outlining Saddam's plans to reinstate WMD once sanctions were lifted, ignoring the brutality suffered by the Iraqi's for the past 30 years, ignoring the success in Afganistan, ignoring the efforts by the administration and troops to limit civilian casulties.....in short, the hell with the facts, I know what the truth is.

My e-mail response to Garofalo:
I am deeply saddened to see the Democrat Party becoming obsessed with hate.
Divisiveness seems to be the only objective.
Fear appears to be the operational force driving the Democrats toward obstructionism at the expense of our nation.
A prime example of Democrat intolerance is this latest attack by Garofalo of Americans that chose to show unity with those Iraqi citizens who braved terrorists threats and attacks to vote.
Most Americans that watched the State of the Union recognized that the purple fingers meant: person to person - 1:1 - "we're with you. We're proud of you. We're not going to abandon you."
This intolerance of independent, freedom of thought by Air America is quickly giving a more apt name: Error America.
Sincerely,
Barbara Turpish

Further response:
Please ponder this link that represents my America. Our nation where the President continues to lead our nation with the theme of hope.
http://www.link4u.com/aa.htm I heard for the 1st time during the 2005 Inauguration.

She must be a regular on Democrat Underground as I saw a thread about this the other day (went over to see if they had anything to say about "The Hug" and the ink-stained fingers shown by the Congress members) and the comments were all about comparing the picture of the Congress members with their fingers in the air to the Nazi Salute.

The Left's frequent playing of the Nazi card in the last few years only serves to highlight their desperation and intellectual vacancy. It's like their biennial (every election cycle) rants that the GOP is going to steal the elderly's Social Security checks; it doesn't mean anything anymore. They might as well be saying "your mama wears combat boots". It doesn't convert one thinking person to their side. It just keeps the kooks and misfits riled up.

"She must be a regular on Democrat Underground as I saw a thread about this the other day"
At least the people on DU have the anonymity of the Web to hide behind. Garofalo was foolish enough to repeat that vile nonsense on live TV!

lol. Sometimes it's just best to sit back and laugh at this kind of thing while the uber-left destroys the entire democratic party.

Here's my little note to Janeane:
*********************************
I know you have the intellect of a 13 year old Janeane, but get off the whole "Nazi" thing. Actually KEEP IT UP, I like more and more people voting for Republicans.
Thanks to you we have 4 more years of Bush and hopefully a Republican majority in the house and senate for the rest of the foreseeable future!
Cheers :)
*******************************
Hope that brightens her day a little more, she just needs a hug.....

Barbara, this is my American too. Scaramonga rightly took me to task yesterday for not seeing that the Left hates this America. Anyone who does not believe that, go see if you can find such a link on ANY Lib blog or website.

"The Left's frequent playing of the Nazi card"
Using the Nazi reference in a home run in my piece about Leftie Baseball:

Childishness seems to define the behaviour of the Left:

What a moron! It's no surprise that the Democrats are using the symbols of hate and scare tactics once again. Just like they do when they want to scare seniors that the sky is falling. She should be called into account for pushing this bul--hit on tv. Oh wait, I forgot, TV is run by the lefty liberals too. Guess we'll just have to get used to the Goose Step and Nazi salute all over again. Hiel Jeanne!

You'd think someone would have better sense than to make a Nazi reference to the Iraq vote. Disgusting. Had someone of the conservative/Republican background made such a reference with regards to a Democrat supported issue it would be all over the MSM. They (liberals) may wish to object anything Bush...however...thoughtless actions such as this will aid in helping voters to decide to continually reject liberal politicians.

This woman has done the impossible for me, she has somehow moved to the left of Ted Kennedy. I didn't think there was any room left there.

Let's set aside all the usual ways to attack Janeane's nonsense for a moment and look at this from the historical perspective.
Apparently Ms. Garofalo doesn't know the history of the Ba'ath party and where they drew their intellectual (loose interpretation) and ideological inspiration from.
She is apparently confused over the fact that the hatred of Hitler, especially for the Jews was deliberately passed to Muslim leaders of the day. Who in turn cultivated it into future generations. The first of which produced Arafat and Hussein.
So she's got a seriously flawed argument, analogy, whatever she wants to call it, linking members of the U.S. Congress showing support for people who have thrown off Ba'athist fascism and partaken a fair and open election.

BTW, if the picture at the top of the page is correct, she's an even bigger buffoon than we give her credit for....the "salute" is performed with the other hand Janeane!
