When it comes to hitting the nail on the head, Victor Davis Hanson is the "go to" guy. Discussing the overall opposition to the War on Terrorism in general and the liberation of Iraq in particular, he wrote this passage:
What explains this automatic censure of the United States, Israel, and to a lesser extent the Anglo-democracies of the United Kingdom and Australia? Westernization, coupled with globalization, has created an affluent and leisured elite that now gravitates to universities, the media, bureaucracies, and world organizations, all places where wealth is not created, but analyzed, critiqued, and lavishly spent.
Who is on the side of the President? Overwhelmingly, his support comes from the creators of wealth - the doers of our society who actually make it work; and around the world, the place you're most likely to find support for our actions is among similar people. This is not to say that all doers support the President, but out of 100 working people and 100 college professors, you're likely to find very strong support for the President among the working people, and strong opposition among the professors.
The rich, idle class of elitists who routinely condemn us and our President are lapped in wealth unimaginable by most of us - Debra Saunders also hit upon this theme when she noted that a bunch of Hollywood types had taken out an ad arguing that their illegal alien nannies should be licensed to drive their SUV's. The Hollywoodizens are saying that "we" should be giving their nannies the respect they deserve - as Ms. Saunders pointed out, what's this "we" stuff, white man? "We" don't have nannies - we don't need to be concerned about the employment of illegal alien house help because, legal or illegal, we can't afford it - but according to the elite, if we don't subsidise their affluent lifestyle by allowing them to employ sub-wage labor, then we're a bunch of ignorant bigots.
I've been cautioned again and again about using the word "stupid" to describe our opponents but I just can't help it - they are stupid; monumentally stupid.
Ever notice that the people who hate Bush tend to be the Philosopher Kings? But they have no real power (because real power comes from the consent of the people, and the people hate these ivory tower snobs), and so they hate the government. But they especially hate Republicans, who do not defer to their wisdom the way Democrats do.

Bolshevism, and other derangements that pass for leftist ideology, have never been anything that could be afforded by anyone who had to work for a living.

I am a teacher and many of my fellow ivory tower peers will not even look me in the eye since the election. The anger is irrational and vehement. It really makes no sense. Everyday we try to teach the results of a "feel good" society - you know it's OK because I ain't hurtin no one. Forget about those two kids asleep on the floor, both with different daddys an empty belly and unbrushed teeth. They are destroying our future

It seems to me that the more money someone has, the futher from reality that they seem to be. Does money acually create a gap between the 'elite' class and the working class?
Multimillionaires such as Teresa Heinz Kerry, John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, and the like hasn't a clue to what mainstream America wants, and believes in.
Another aspect is that thier hatred of President George W. Bush has them so totally blinded to anything else that even logic has been tossed out the window!
