Captain's Quarters notes that the MSM is silent for yet another news cycle on the Eason Jordan affair. Meanwhile, Hugh Hewitt has an interview up with Rony Abovitz, the first person to bring to light Mr. Jordan's comments. In the interview, this rather stark bit was brought up:
One thing I will never forget: Arab journalists coming up to Mr. Jordan at the end of the session and praising his sheer bravery for standing up to the U.S. military in such a public way.
Arab journalists, of course, work in police States - meaning that with the exception of any Iraqi or Afghan journalists, any Arab journalist you come across has to be a stooge of a police State in order to be employed. It is a sad and disgusting day in the history of American journalism when the head of a US news organisation gains the plaudits of the journalistic descendents of Josef Goebbles. But, then again, seeing as Mr. Jordan allowed CNN to become a branch of Saddam's Hitlerian Ministry of Propaganda, I guess we shouldn't be too shocked at this late a date.
Abovitz goes on to say that the tape of the remarks would be absolutely devastating to Jordan - let us hope that someone has got that tape and will give it to someone in the New Media.
