Thank God We've Got Such Men

Last week, Marine General Mattis caused the MSM to get their hearts in a tizzy when he opined that its rather satisfying to kill our brutal, inhuman enemies - most of us said "cool" when we heard that one of our Marine generals had that mindset and we expected that it would be pretty universal among our armed forces. To those who are still a bit fainthearted about such resolute and tough statements, I bring you this quote from a retired Army officer:

We must celebrate the fact that we have men like Jim Mattis willing to devote (and give) their lives when necessary to commit an act that most of those in our society would be horrified to even contemplate. If you are offended by these emotions, then seriously consider joining an Army or Marine infantry unit so that you can demonstrate how to kill an enemy in a more humane and politically correct manner.

This is war - war, cruel and hard. We gentle people are able to sleep securely at night because rough men are willing to do violence on our behalf. Remember that.

The military spends years training to kill people and break things.

I am constantly amazed that the general public think war is some sort of boxing match with good guy rules that all obey.
