AP reports that Democrats are pushing legislation that would allow felons to vote. This is part of their "Count Every Vote Act" scheme, which would also give money to States for voting equipment and make Election Day a federal holiday . They seem not to understand that there is no such thing as a national election: voters choose Electors on a State-by-State basis, and those Electors choose the President.
Apparently, Democrats feel they have gotten as much of the non-felon vote that they can possibly get and are now turning to an untapped group. Ostensibly they also feel that felons are more inclined to be Democrats than Republicans, but that is another issue for others to discuss. The real issue is how differently the two parties approach the issue of voting: Republicans seek to limit fraud, as in Washington and Wisconsin, by ensuring the use of ID and registration to make sure only eligible voters vote (and only once), while Democrats seek to loosen ID and registration rules in the interest of "access." Just how does unchecked "access" protect the sanctity of the ballot box? Perhaps we need purple ink.
Hey, why don't we include dead people, too? It would be very easy to do. Just have John Edwards 'channel' them and find out who they want to vote for. Then, and only then would this this really be a "Count Every Vote Act".

"This has nothing to do with me," said Kerry. "It is not partisan, or shouldn't be."
Clinton echoed those comments, though her senatorial re-election committee, Friends of Hillary, is pushing the bill hard.
Hahahaha! Does anybody still believe either of these liars?
Democrats are pushing legislation that would allow felons to vote.
Where they gonna get the votes for their "legislation?" What a joke!

Hopefully S.414 introduced today will counter those efforts. Full text of the bill to amend the Help America Vote Act of 2002 is available here

Liberals, criminals, and scum. Scum, criminals and liberals. As usual! Where you find one, you find all. The same old symbiotic relationship, the same old convergence of interests.
If they keep making it all so obvious, who can be blamed for deciding that there are no differences among them worth noting?

Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell will be happy. He's the Godfather of Getting Out the Criminal Vote (and supressing the Military Vote).
We all know why the Democrats want the Felons to vote, because most felons (80% plus/minus) will vote for the Libs.
Wish they would fight as hard to make sure all the military votes would get counted too. Oh, I forgot, Military voters usually vote for conservatives (80% plus/minus).
Do you think the Dems will try to make it easier for ALL the military votes to get counted? Or just the Felons?
