Obama Campaigning For Byrd??

Can you believe this? Senator Barack Obama has done a fundraising pitch for Senator Robert "KKK" Byrd's reelection. In an e-mail sent to MoveOn.org members, Obama praises the former KKK member and asks supporters to donate to Byrd's campaign for reelection (here is a partial screenshot.) Isn't this a bit strange? Afterall, if Senator Byrd had his way, Obama wouldn't even had the right to vote, let alone be a Senator. Obama would be sitting in the back of a bus, gone to segregated schools, and yet he's now campaigning for Byrd?

Obama warns that "Senator Byrd will be the target of Republicans because he stands up for what he believes." Well, has Obama ever thought about the things Byrd has believed in in his lifetime?

He's just kissing some ass to the senior Democrat Senator.

"Byrd has spoken out passionately against a Bush foreign policy..."

he's also spoke out passionately about:

-being a member of the Ku Klux Klan, and not just your everyday run-of-the-mill member, a "Kleagle", a recruiter for the KKK

-the Ku Klux Klan [being] needed today as never before and I am anxious to see its rebirth in West Virginia (1946)

-using the phrase "white nigger" twice on national TV in 2001

-filibustering the landmark 1964 Civil Rights Act (sponsored by evil Republicans) for more than 14 hours

-opposing the nominations of the Supreme Court's two black justices, liberal Thurgood Marshall and conservative Clarence Thomas

-vowing never to fight "with a Negro by my side. Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds."

Senator Fetchit Obama has clearly learned his place in the Democrat Party -- doing the bidding of the racists who lead it.
