It's Al Gore TV!

Hotter than MTV, Al Gore's new "Current" network is to debut in August. It's for the kids, the younger viewers, with short videos (a few seconds to 15 min.) and "Google data on the most popular Web searches."

What to expect from Al Gore TV?

"We have no intention of being a Democratic channel, a liberal channel, or a TV version of Air America, that's not what we're all about," he [Board Chairman Al Gore] said, referring to the liberal radio network.

Air America has essentially been, to borrow a phrase from last year's campaigning Dick Gephardt, "a miserable failure," so that's not a programming model to be followed. And if it were to be a "Democratic channel, a liberal channel," its new would compete with much of what is already on the three networks, CNN, and MSNBC. (It's not their fault. It is simply how "journalists" have bee programmed.)

Al Gore said the network plans to have young people "engage in a dialogue about democracy" and "trying to bring about a change in the way the television medium is used." That could mean just about anything.

Gee, it sounds exactly as exciting as Gore is.

Yes, we do need more representation of the left on television. The poor left is so addled by the outbreak of objectivity, as shown by Fox and some blogs, they must scurry to shore up the crumbling walls of socialist media.

In the meantime, the Old Guys of network news are seeing the handwriting on the wall, and are getting out while the getting's good. Look at the mass exodus of the Talking Heads that have been able to tell America what to think for so long. They can't stand up to an influx of fact and independent thought, and are heading for the hills.

How typical of Gore to rush to be sure he doesn't miss the sailing of the next Titanic---AKA Left-wing media.
