DNC Head Howard Dean Supports Socialist for Senate

Is this the Democratic leadership finally dropping the mask? Finally admitting, by the back door, what they really are?

WASHINGTON Breaking party lines, former Gov. Howard Dean said Monday he supports Rep. Bernard Sanders' bid for the U.S. Senate, saying the Independent makes a "strong candidate."

"A victory for Bernie Sanders is a win for Democrats," Dean said in a telephone interview Monday.

Sanders is the only avowed socialist in the United States House of Representatives, if he were to win a Senate seat (not at all impossible in Vermont; especially as Sanders is the only House member from Vermont, and thus has shown he can repeatedly win State-wide), then he'd be the first socialist in the United States Senate.

Any Democrats want to defend this?

It must give Democrats in Vermont such a warm and fuzzy feeling that the head of the DNC thinks that they aren't worth a damn, when he endorses a member of another political party over his own.

Who cares what his background as a socialist. If his people support him who are we to complain. The nation as a whole is moving in the right direction, and this is only a slight bump in the road. The inclusion of different perspectives only makes our party stronger. And this rabid Dean hating is below our better judgement. Rise above...and our party can maintain this era of inclusion and progress.
