Like a gigantic, stupid buffalo, the MSM spreads its (expletive deleted) around, and now the men and women at the sharp end of the war have to clean it up:
The U.S. military on Monday said it must reach out to angry Afghans to ease tensions."We want to redouble our efforts to communicate with the Afghan people," Col. Gary Cheek with the U.S. Army in Kabul said Monday. "We want to ensure there is trust and confidence in the U.S."
Meanwhile, the Afghan government had something to say on the matter:
Afghani government spokesman Jawed Ludin said his government expresses "in the strongest terms our disapproval of Newsweek's approach to reporting which allowed them to run this story without proper examination beforehand."
Keep in mind that this is no picnic for the Afghan government and its forces, either; Afghan troops and police are called upon to restore order, potentially killing or injuring their own people...and placed in this position because of the irresponsibility of a few reporters.
