On CNN's Larry King Live Monday, Vice President Dick Cheney asserted that First Lady Laura Bush would defeat Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-New York) at the polls in a Presidential election. So says Reuters, anyway.
Here's the exchange:
"You know, people are thinking of Mrs. Clinton running for president. I think Mrs. Bush ought to run for president," Mrs. [Lynn] Cheney said. "If we want to have a Bush dynasty, let's get Laura Bush."The vice president, who again ruled out making his own run for president when Bush's term ends, agreed.
"It's a great idea," Dick Cheney said. "And I think I know who would win too."
It's a throwaway remark, and at least Reuters does not say that it tried to contact Hillary for her reaction to this "challenge."
But with Hillary's very real and very solid negatives, it is very possible that Bush could beat Clinton. (Don't tell Dick Morris. He wishes to sell books.)
It's a bizarre political hypothetical, anyway.
An interesting thought ...
Still a lot to fear in a Hillary candidacy.

Laura is a nice lady and would never consider a run for public office. Unlike the Hildebeast, she has too much class to enter the political arena.
I say bring the 'Beast on because she's not gonna make it out of the primaries. Why? HINT: "AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!" He will see to it.
Meanwhile, all that clean livin' is catchin' up with Ol' Slick who is starting to be called "Sick Willie" recently. He is too sick and too weak to stump for her and without him, she's toast.
Some poor, misguided libs fell for Willie's fake charisma, the 'Beast doesn't even have fake charisma. The two refugees from a trailer park ought to head back to Arkansas - but I hear they don't want them back.

*Chuckles*
It'd be a funny campaign that's for sure. You've gotta love all the "What If's" going on right now. :)

Laura Bush 2008?
If the post and comments here are any indication of
the way most Republicans view the possibility of these two women
vying for the office of President, it might actually
happen. Michael Savage said that the Republican party
might just do it, run Laura Bush for President of the
United States in 2008, weeks before Mr. and Mrs.
Cheney made the above remarks. He said to remember
where you heard it first - on "The Savage Nation."
Imagine the laughing stock America would be to our
fiercest enemies should the U.S. elect a woman as
their commander in chief and the vulnerable position
that would place this country in.
The Bush - Clinton - Bush oligarchy won't end soon
enough, especially if Mrs. Bush dares.
Whew, thank the LORD this world is not my home.

Good Lord, the Cheneys must be crazy -- or the GOP is just brain dead. Laura Bush? Come on! It would be like having Aunt Bee as president. Laura may be a "nicer" woman than Hillary, but she's a policy retard and a mental lightweight compared to HRC. You can bet your apple pie that the Democrats are loving this. Who will that idiot Savage and those silly Cheneys recommend next? The Snuggles Bear?
