Dick Durbin, one of my senators in spite of my votes, has done nothing to distinguish his service in the Senate, and now this emerges. I suspect this is another pol's attempt to grab headlines, but this is a pretty p*ss poor way of doing it.

The Dems are on a GITMO crusade for one thing and one thing only; they are trying to latch onto an issue they think will discredit and tear down Bush's support. Bush is not very good on the defensive, as we saw with some of his recent support ratings declining. I much rather he confront the Dems head on.

OT, how soon will it be before we confront the Dems in the US Senate over the filibuster rule change situation. It is inevitable and GOP could lose with the likes of McCain, but we need to smoke this out and expose the Dems further as obstructionist. Who knows perhaps that is what they are planning after some of these confirmations are completed as part of this so-called deal.
