The Democrats are really reaching new lows in their unending campaign against President Bush. Even after Dick Durbin was forced into an insincere apology for slandering American troops, they are back at it.
Military investigators found evidence of degrading and abusive treatment by interrogators at the prison for terrorist suspects at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, the top Democrat on the Senate Armed Services Committee said Wednesday.Yes, that is the purpose - to gather intelligence. If these poor, delicate terrorists weren't incarcerated, gouging out the eyes of guards or throwing their feces at them, they'd be killing as many civilians as they could. So, yes, Carl, we are trying to extract information from them. CNN then makes sure to perpetuate the lie that the Geneva Conventions are even relevant.Sen. Carl Levin said their investigation, which looked into FBI allegations of abuse of prisoners, shows that the purpose of the abuses recorded by investigators was to gather intelligence - and indicated that the problem was not an isolated one.
"It is clear from the report that detainee mistreatment was not simply the product of a few rogue military police in a night shift," said Levin, D-Michigan.
Investigators determined that interrogators violated the Geneva Conventions and Army regulations three times. And what were the supposed "abuses?"
Female interrogators inappropriately touched detainees, including rubbing perfume on one and massaging another's back. Investigators documented that a woman in one case smeared what she described as menstrual blood - it was fake - on a prisoner, but they recommended no further action on the allegation because it happened some time ago. Many men, such as Saudi princes on vacation, have to pay for female contact. As for the fake blood, well it's better than the real blood of thousands of 9/11 victims.
Interrogators threatened one high-value prisoner by saying they would go after his family. This was in violation of U.S. military law, the investigation found.A threat? Big deal. And isn't free speech covered by the Constitution anyway? Flag-burning is protected by the First Amendment but you can't threaten terrorists? Please.
Military interrogators impersonated FBI and State Department agents. This practice was stopped after the FBI complained. The spineless FBI investigaor who complained about Gitmo and the toadies at State should be so fortunate to be confused with an American soldier.
Interrogators improperly used duct tape on a detainee. An FBI agent said a prisoner was bound on the head with duct tape, his mouth covered, because he was chanting verses from the Quran.Excuse me? Duct tape? This is a federal offense? Carl Levin and Dick Durbin are going to have to shut every frat house in America if this is a human rights violation.
Interrogators used cold, heat, loud music and sleep deprivation on prisoners to break their will to resist interrogation. These techniques were approved at certain times at Guantanamo.Sure, our soldiers in the desert heat of Iraq or the mountain snows of Afghanistan live uncomfortably, but G-d forbid the poor, delicate terrorists don't have adequate climate control.
When you're done saying "big freakin' deal" about all this, you'll realize that the Democrats are out of their minds and not serious about defeating terrorists. They view attacks on the President, by using the U.S. military as a proxy on which to beat up, as more important than destroying the terrorists who are out to kill us all. It is appalling. They are so consumed with hatred of President Bush that they will do anything to throw barbs at him, including slandering American troops and deliberately harming our reputation. These terrorists are mindless automatons trained only to kill who deserve no creature comforts and, in fact, are treated too well. Carl Levin and his Democratic cronies ought to be ashamed of themselves for acting as defenders of America's mortal enemies. They also ought to quit wondering why they keep losing elections because their anti-Americanism is manifestly clear.
Great piece. There was a poll out froom rasmussen that stated that 70 % of Americans thought that the detainees werre being treated well. Of those that thought this 35 % thought they were being treated too well. It goes to show you the left is so far out of touch with America.
And now they are at it again. They never learn.

While the Dems are burying themselves here at home, in the court of public opinion, by being so shamelessly stupid, they are doing great harm abroad, in encouraging our enemies to think there is strong opposition to what we are doing, and more slaughter of innocents will build that opposition.
Today, the only way to be a radical liberal is to have blood on your hands. I think we need to keep hammering on that----that every stupid, reckless, bleeding-heart attempt to paint our efforts as being basically evil will result in more deaths. For a political wing whose mantra has been, for so many years "But if it only saved one life, wouldn't it be worth it?..." this reckless encouragement of the militant loonies to continue their efforts against us is the height of hypocrisy.
BTW, I've always thought that whenever a homicide bomber is identified, or any other really dangerous terrorist for that matter, his family should disappear. Grandma, cousin Fatima, Uncle Momo, the whole lot of them. Now, we don't have to brutalize them. I don't care if they are learning to jet ski in Cancun. I just don't want the bad guys to know where they are.
But then again, that might upset someone, and that, above all else, must be avoided. It would just be so MEAN.
"Interrogators improperly used duct tape on a detainee. An FBI agent said a prisoner was bound on the head with duct tape, his mouth covered, because he was chanting verses from the Quran."
Obviously, we should have used something acceptable to the libs to silence the guy---such as sawing off his head with a dull sword. They don't seem to have any objection to that.
