Air America Scandal UpdateAir America claims that it underwent an ownership change and thus bears no financial responsibility for the money taken from poor children in New York to fund the network's operations in the past - but Captain's Quarters notes that the alleged ownership change isn't all its cracked up to be - read the whole thing, but to boil it down what we've got here is that the ownership change really just amounted to forcing out a couple people who fell out of favor at Air America while most of the leadership remained the same.
This is looking more and more like liberalism's Enron scandal - cooked books, cover-ups, thievery...and lets not forget knavery of a high order. One intersting thing that CQ brings up that I never knew before is that the man who started it all peddled LaRouchite conspiracy theories about President Bush:
Drobny and his wife Anita started a holding company called AnShell to manage the effort. However, Sheldon Drobny ran into a buzzsaw when National Review's Byron York reported on Drobny's rehashing of Lyndon LaRouche conspiracies on his own website, MakeThemAccountable.com. Drobny compared George Bush to Adolf Hitler on a number of occasions and regurgitated LaRouche's hallucinations of ties between the Bush family and German Nazis.
After all the paper-shuffling of the so-called change of ownership, who is chairwoman of Air America? Anita Drobny, wife of the LaRouchite who started it all...this is what you've got liberals, and I'd love to see you take a stab at explaining it.

Air America seems to have very little keeping it on the air. How long will it be permitted to continue as it gets zero ratings and scandals like this disturbing one? Perhaps they need more "nuance".

They're shameless and they NEVER apologize. But they're also becoming irrelevant.

Frankenberry and GarAwfulo rant about Enron and other corporate scandals, yet they are benefiting handsomely from an even worse scandal; the stealing of funds from a non-profit organization that was supposed to be for poor inner-city kids and Alzheimer's patients.
I guess its OK to do that since they are liberals, and nothing is more important than to broadcast their 'message' on a radio 'network' which can't crack even 5% of just about every market they try.

Another thing...what was the interest rate on this loan? In all the coverage on the blogs the only mention is scAir America paying pack the principal of $875,000. What a sweetheart deal.
I'm gonna head down to the local Boys and Girls club and get me one of those no interest loans.
The silence from the lame stream media is proof positive of their bias and hypocrisy.
