The current Polish government deserves the thanks of all Americans for the effort it has put into the liberation of Iraq, but it look as though domestic Polish politics is seeing the government to the door:
WARSAW, Poland (AP) - Exit polls and early returns indicated Polish voters ousted the nation's scandal-prone government of ex-communists in parliamentary elections Sunday, giving a broad majority to two center-right parties that have promised tax cuts and clean government.
On the positive side, the center-right parties ahve indicated their willingness to extend Poland's committment in Iraq beyond the December 31st cut-off date of the current Polish government. Kinda wish we has sensible politics like that - argue all you want over domestic issues, but in foreign affairs present a united front to the world.
Additionally, in the larger sense the Polish election gives hope that America will continue to find a common-sense partner in central Europe. With Russia flirting with our Chinese communist enemies, Germany locked into a political morass, and France still playing blind-man's-bluff with Islamo-fascism, it is good that we'll have at least some sensible people to deal with in Europe.

Marsz, marsz, Dabrowski,
S ziemi Wloskiej do Polski
Za twoim przewodem
Zlaczym sie s narodom!
(Recalling almost all of my Polish Culture Class from Monterey...)
