Patrick Ruffini has a new straw poll on the '08 election up. This one has an interesting feature. You can tag your vote with issues that matter most to you (or general leanings like "moderate"). Also, he's left Newt off this month and added Govs. Pawlenty (MN) and Barbour (MS) to see what sort of impact these candidates might have. So go over and vote!

Tancredo's wall or else!
The fastest rising star in politics is Tom Tancredo. He may barely be on the radar of most republican voters now, but the trajectory of his campaign, if left unchanged, will undoubtedly lead him to the republican nomination.
I have checked the web pages of Republican Senators, a couple had statistics posted that showed Tancredos issues to have a 63% in a poll asking what the top 5? issues were.
Whoever owns these issues owns the nomination, and right now, Tancredo not only owns the issues, but none of the establishment Republican wannabes seems to have the cajones or wits to confront the issues in a way that will satisfy the base Republican voter in '08.
If one of the other possible Republican contenders, perhaps Allen, were able to co-opt his position on immigration he could possibly win against Tancredo, but none could co-opt rep. Tancredos leadership on border security and immigration reform, by far the most critical conservative(patriotic)issues in this political season.
As the rank and file rejection of President Bush's chum, Harriet Miers to the supreme court with the president pleading for them to trust him , and the rejection of the presidents father after reneging on his tax pledge showed, conservatives voters, and not their elected officials, rule this party and this country. Tancredo's wall, and Tancredo's gall are just what this country, and the republican party needs. All of these 'media darling' establishment 'CINO' candidates: Giuliani, McCain, and Rice, have little chance of winning in the primaries, and the straw poll at Cpac '06 seems to show a 500% increase in Tancredo supporters over '05, as I said earlier, if that trend continues congressman Tancredo will have the nomination sewn up by next year.
