Hmm... why isn't this big news?

Two political action committees linked to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi have been charged with attempting to circumvent to legal limits on campaign giving, the Federal Election Commission has ruled.According to the March 2004 FEC finding, Pelosi appears to have violated the same kind of arcane campaign finance regulation that spurred the indictment of House Majority Leader Tom DeLay this week.
So, is Nancy going to be indicted now? I probably shouldn't hold my breath.
UPDATE: Ditto:
Tom DeLay resigned as House Republican Majority Leader, because he was indicted and Republican Rules (not House rules) require that.Nancy Pelosi has not resigned, even though she was found guilty of having a "fund-raising committee. . .improperly accept[] donations over federal limits" and fined $21,000.
The Democrats do not have a rule requiring Pelosi to resign, even though convicted.
What does all this mean?
First, Republicans have higher ethical standards than Democrats.
Second, the Republican rule failed to take into consideration the possibility that a partisan zealot prosecutor would abuse his fiduciary position to indict a person like DeLay, as part of a campaign to falsely depict Republican leaders as corrupt before the 2006 and 2008 elections, and to hinder the effort to implement President Bush's agenda.
Third, an indictment is a charge, nothing more, evidence of nothing. But a determination of guilt is supposed to be conclusive evidence of guilt.

I'd love it....but would it matter? My understanding is that the reason DeLay had to step down is that it is required by the Republican house rules, but that there is no such requirement in the Democratic house rules. If that's true (and I don't know how to confirm it), then even if Pelosi was indicted she would be able to continue as minority house leader...
On the other hand....it _would_ be an opportunity to point out the difference in the standards of the two parties, now wouldn't it!

Nancy said:
“The criminal indictment of Majority Leader Tom Delay is the latest example that Republicans in Congress are plagued by a culture of corruption at the expense of the American people.”
So I wonder what she has to say now?

Rev., she has nothing to say, because very little media light will ever be shined upon her situation. Only Delay's will hit the airwaves, except on talk radio...except for Air America. I think we all need to donate to them. The longer they stay on the air, the more Americans have the opportunity to understand the left for who they truly are!

This is ridiculous that this is the only site that I have read this one. What is being done to publicize this? How can we sit idly by while this gets no attention?

Why isn't this big news today?
Maybe because it happened a year and a half ago?

Scott, have you read the DeLay indictment? clearly you haven't... read it... you'll be enlightened, and you understand why it doesn't matter if it were a year a half ago..
