Back in New Hampshire semi-stumping for the Democratic nomination in 2008, Biden had this very interesting thing to say:

He told the heavily Democratic crowd that Democrats have become elitist. He noted that some Democrats have questioned why he wears an American flag on his lapel.

"We've become disconnected from where we grew up," Biden said.(emphasis added)

We've no reason to doubt Biden's word here - so we must presume that at least more than one Democrat has questioned why he wears an American flag on his lapel. This is a question which should never enter an American mind. And yet it does - and Democrats scream bloody murder when we question their patriotism.

It really is, "America: Love it or Leave it". We've no room in the United States for people who claim the rights and benefits of an American while hating the America which provides said rights and benefits. That a senior Democratic politician should be questioned about such a thing shows how far the rot has gone in the Democratic Party. But that is, after all, the Democratic base - a socialist/green conglomeration of ignorant malcontents who hate the United States of America, and thus question why someone would wear Old Glory on their lapel.

As an aside, the fact that Biden is wearing the flag will be interesting to watch. If he keeps wearing it, then he is toast in the early Democratic primaries...if he stops wearing it, then we know he's lurching left in an attempt to capture the Democratic base. In either case, a very pathetic example of the disintegration of a once-great American political Party.
