Another Kaine Campaign Fraud?

Today, Daily Kos reported an alleged dirty trick by Republican gubernatorial candidate Jerry Kilgore in Virginia. He claims one of his readers received a flyer in the mail that appears to be an official Democratic Party mailer about the Virginia gubernatorial race. At first glance, the mailer appears to be an official Democratic Party voter guide... However, a disclaimer hidden as a photo credit reads "paid for and authorized by Virginians for Jerry Kilgore." A Kos diarist also reported about the mailer yesterday.

Kos is outraged, and his loyal readers aren't too happy either... But, what makes this so interesting is that the Democrat candidate Tim Kaine's campaign was just sanctioned by the Virginia State Board of Elections for a fraudulent mailer using identical tactics... A flier with the Republican elephant logo, which, at first glance appears to be the product of the Virginia Club for Growth, but in reality is the product of the Kaine campaign. The disclaimer is disguised as a photo credit.

Does anyone really believe the Kilgore campaign would resort to the same dirty trick as the Kaine campaign... especially when the Kaine campaign may face prosecution for their scheme?

Perhaps the Kossacks are just plain stupid, or are so blinded by partisanship that they'll believe anything, as long as it makes Republicans look bad. Perhaps this was damage control by the Kaine campaign, hoping that, in the aftermath of their original fraud, voters would believe the Kilgore campaign was guilty of the same thing... Maybe the Kossacks are behind this one... Who knows?

Still, let's just say for a moment the Kilgore campaign did put out the mailer... If they did, it was a dumb thing to do. I can admit that. But why won't the Kossacks condemn Tim Kaine for what he did? Afterall, he did it first.. Just goes to show you leftists have different standards for Republicans than do for their own party.

I have left a message with the Kilgore campaign and hope to get a comment back from them tomorrow.

Keep in mind, we only have the Leftists' word at DailyKos that this occurred.

These days, if a Leftist tells you the sky is blue - better check for yourself.
