Help terrorism-sponsor and radical Islam-exporter Iran build a nuclear weapon, no problem. Help America combat Islamic terror, and you get sanctioned. That's the European Union's collaborationist attitude, reminiscent of the continent's Vichy and Vidkun (Quisling) heritage.
You might have thought after Madrid and London bombings, the murder of Theo van Gogh, the riots in France, etc., that Europe might have gotten a clue. It clearly hasn't. It still thinks it can appease Muslim fanatics and, until it realizes the lunacy of this mentality, terrorists will see this weakness for what it is and be emboldened.

It is time to disband NATO and replace it with an organization that includes Brittian, Italy and some of the eastern European democracies. We need to pull out of Germany and Spain. Stop funneling dollars into these anti-American nations. Let them eat koos koos instead.

I think more and more countries will come to find that what happened in Paris will happen where they are. And honestly, we can't afford to have that happen--we've got to figure out a way to show them the future. Since they don't listen to objective, rational knowledge (or even the blatherings of al-Qaeda's publications), perhaps we should send in a Gypsy lady to read her crystal ball?

With the exception of Britain, most of Europe has been pretty toothless for decades. Germany was fierce in WW Two, but look at France and Spain and Italy.
The energetic, the driven, the oddballs, the creative, the bold, tended to move to the New Worlds---North America or Australia---and the stodgy, the timid, and the entrenched stayed behind. That element of timidity and clinginess and fear of taking personal responsibility made those parts of Europe ripe for Socialism---a paternalistic form of government that removes personal responsibility and replaces it with government control. And now we see the spineless, fear-driven, helpless, dithering result. And of course they need to defend their descent into helplessness, so they criticize us for not being as weak and fluttery as they are..
My liberal brothers fret about what Europe thinks of us. I say Who Cares? The only way to keep them from resenting our strength and power is to give it up and crawl down into the same hole they're in. Yeah, like THAT's going to solve anything.
I'm for giving the UN six months to vacate the New York premises and suggesting that they go where they are needed---somewhere in darkest Africa, where officers are not there to live the high life---and then form a new organization which does not elevate terror regimes or reward corruption. We should start acting in our own best interests, for a change, and stop fretting about how "liked" we are.

Eeeeeh, Europe sanctioned us, whippy dippy. Why do so many Americans care so much? The riots in France should have proved to us that a welfare state will end up in riots.
