Iranian Nightmare

Now that Saddam Hussein has been toppled and he can no longer arm with WMD the terrorist groups that he harbored and supported, Iran is the world's #1 security threat.

Not having lived through the Cuban Missile Crisis, it is difficult for me to make comparisons, but if Iran obtains nuclear weapons I believe it will be the most dangerous time in the history of the world. With the Soviets, we were dealing with rational players. With Iran, we are not. The deterrent effect of mutually assured destruction does not work well with religious extemists. It is entirely reasonable to take the mad mullahs at their words that they will use their nukes. Just this week, I heard Newt Gingrich say that he believes there is a 20% chance that Jerusalem and Tel Aviv will disappear within our lifetimes.

Iran's president is driven by an apocalyptic vision, and a nuclear arsenal provides him with the means to achieve it. 2006 will determine much.

» The Brink Of War With Iran from Stop The ACLU
Are we on the brink of war with Iran? Michelle Malkin thinks so. It certainly seems inevitable. Iran’s president, Mr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, is certainly a loose cannon that refuses to listen to the International community’s warnings. An... [Read More]
