It would make sense, because stopping Iran from getting nuclear weapons may very well be the only means of preventing a second Holocaust:
JERUSALEM (AP) - Israel's defense minister hinted Saturday that the Jewish state is preparing for military action to stop Iran's nuclear program, but said international diplomacy must be the first course of action."Israel will not be able to accept an Iranian nuclear capability and it must have the capability to defend itself, with all that that implies, and this we are preparing," Shaul Mofaz said.
His comments at an academic conference stopped short of overtly threatening a military strike but were likely to add to growing tensions with Iran.
As the news story goes on to note, even Germany's defense minister is stating that the military option must remain on the table when dealing with Iran.
The crisis with Iran is a very real world thing - something not really spinnable by our leftists. You see, no one on earth other than idiots wants Iran to have a nuclear weapon. While a US or Israeli military strike at Iran's nuclear program might result in a resounding bit of official condemnation, the plain fact of the matter is that sighs of relief would be heard 'round the world if Iran's nuclear program were to be attacked.
It would, however, not be in our best interest to have Israel carry out the attack - just too much Isreali/Moslem bad blood for such an attack to be other than an outrage in most of the Moslem world. Its not much better if we do it, but at least the sting isn't as bad and any officially upset Moslem governments will be easily mollified once the attack is complete.
All in all, it does look like the world is coming to grips with this - we may even go into any military action against Iran with the blessing of the UN. This is a slim chance, but it is a real one.

The President has been unwavering in his opposition to Iran’s Nuclear Weapons program. He as described it as a threat to the world and is on record as saying that the West will not tolerate an Iran armed with Nuclear weapons. All of this is appropriate and correct. Unfortunately, the President has yet to prepare the American people for what could amount to the inevitable necessity of striking Iranian nuclear facilities. The Neocon understands the reluctance of the President to speak too loudly on this sensitive issue, because of the obvious unhelpful influence such loud rhetoric may have on the shot-term price of oil. However, we are reaching the point of decision. What is the greater danger to future generations? Higher oil prices or a nuclear armed Iran? It is the Neocon’s position that a nuclear armed Iran represents the higher danger in the long run. Therefore we encourage the President of the United States to prepare the larger American public for the dangers that lay ahead, and for the approaching necessity of action.

If it is not in our best interest to have Israel take out Iranian nuclear sites, then we need to stop procrastinating and send in SOCOM forces to get it done.
By pulling its money out of european banks and threating industrial uranium enrichment if refered to the UN security council, Iran has shown that it is planning to stay the course and fulfill its desire to "wipe Israel off the face of the map". Either we strike, Israel strikes, or we let the UN impose its impotent sanctions and watch Iran strike first.
