Tom Delay wins primary

In the vote many called "a referendum on Tom Delay", Delay has been declared the winner of the Republican primary for Congressional District 22 with just 14% reporting. As of the time of this post, Delay has 64.3% of the vote while the next closest candidate has just 26%.

So now that Delay has won his referendum, how will the Democrats spin the fact that Delay's support in District 22 remains in tact?

Living in Delay's district I got a first had view of the campaign. Delay's chief apponent ran a lot of radio adds the last two weeks of the campaign. Delay ran none that I heard. Delay did some polling and I had a yard sign of his, but that was the extent of his campaign.

All the hysterics were calling this a referendum on Delay. Well Delay won by a 2 to one vote margine. His opponent spent heavily on advertising and Delay spent nothing. Tom Delay is very popular in the 22nd district.

Bring on the liberal Democrat in November. There is a lot of ill will towards Democrats because of the way Ronnie Earl used six grand juries before he could find one corrupt enough to indict Tom Delay.

Bring on the "cut and run" Democrats. The Texans in the 22nd district are itching to bring them down.

You guys re elect an admittedly corrupt politician more than willing to trade money for his services entrusted to him by his constituents? You should be ashamed. THESE PEOPLE DON'T HAVE A RIGHT TO BE THERE, YOU GUYS ARE DESTROYING THIS COUNTRY FOR NO REASON, WHAT THE FUCK IS THE MATTER WITH YOU

tsk tsk tsk tsk tsk, Mr. Potty Mouth steve. I just love what passes for intellectural political discourse from the Left. (So sorry about the oxymoron, as well as the leftymoron.)

It took three----THREE---grand juries before
Ronnie Earle could bully anyone into indicting DeLay. Then they were so bumfuddled that they indicted him for something that was not a crime when he did it.

Clearly, stevie has no idea of what DeLay was really indicted for. He also clearly does not understand that to "indict" someone means merely to "accuse" someone. Therefore, if I were to "indict" steve for abject stupidity, he would be innocent until he opened his mouth and convicted himself.

Also, stevie-my-lad, you need to remember that in a grand jury only one side is presented. They call it a "jury" which is clearly confusing you, but it is not a body formed to determine guilt or innocence. It is a body formed to evaluate the evidence presented by only one side, the prosecutor, and only for the purpose of deciding if he has enough evidence to proceed to an actual formal accusation---or 'indictment'. So, Ronnie finally found a group of people he could bully into accepting what he told them as adequate evidence for proceeding to the next step, which would be a REAL trial, by a REAL jury, and one where the defense could finally be heard.

Why do I say Ronnie had to "bully" his third grand jury into going along with him? Because members of his first two grand juries filed complaints agaisnt him for his belligerent and bullying harangues against them when they did not think he had enough 'evidence' to take to court.

So I guess WHAT THE F___ IS THE MATTER WITH US is that we still think the facts matter, and that it is a good idea to know what the f___ we are talking about before we mouth off. In other words, we are not Democrats.
