Sharon, Stoned of Just Half-Baked?

This is rich.

A peaceful co-existence between the peoples of the Middle East is but a breath away, Hollywood star Sharon Stone said after a highly publicized visit to Israel.

"It feels to me that we have an opportunity ... to choose understanding in a new way," she told a press conference in Paris when asked about her trip.

"And it really is just a breath. It's just an agreement that's just a breath. We are not far apart. We can choose to have this alternative kind of growth that is a collective nuance of understanding.

"We are just that breath away from a peaceful co-existence,"

Let's leave aside her asinine and trite attempt to use vacuous linguistic formulations as a facade to portray herself as an intellectual. Sharon Stone clearly has no concept of the historical context into which she parachuted herself. No doubt the genius Stone would have second thoughts about Israel's "peace partners" if she was actually serious about women's rights.
Stone, who is also an ardent champion of women's rights, was in Paris ahead of the release of her latest film "Basic Instinct II".
How can a liberal, Western-style democracy reach a "collective nuance of understanding" with a society in which honor killings are still accepted, not to mention suicide bombing? Of course it can't. She's just another primped and pampered primadonna who thinks that the E!-charged glow of celebrity is all it takes to overcome millenia of radical Islamic teaching.

Time to boycott Hollywood completely?

I think the gut reaction is that entertainers should know their place and stay there.
