Daschle Regrets Not Running For Prez in 2004

Yeah, that would have been interesting...

Tom Daschle says he has no regrets about his tenure in the Senate, despite losing his seat to Republican John Thune in 2004. But the former Senate Democratic leader says he does have some regret about a decision he made before he lost -- not running for president in 2004.

Now, he may be going for it.

Daschle sounded very much the presidential candidate last week during a speech in a Manchester restaurant, appealing to Democratic activists with criticism of President Bush and South Dakota's abortion ban.

But obvious questions remain -- will he really run? And if he does, does he have a chance?

The answers to those questions are: probably, and not a chance.
