Kos Promises Mutiny In The Democratic Party

How else can this be described?

With the [YearlyKos convention], Moulitsas says, his movement had finally proved its relevance to the party. "We're not sitting around waiting for the so-called professionals to give us power in the party," he tells NEWSWEEK. "We're taking it for ourselves."
The way Markos talks, he clearly thinks he's the Messiah of the Democratic Party. But is he? An objective look at the facts would lead anyone to conclude that he is not. He's been unable to get any Democrat elected. His only victory (which is debatable if he can even take credit) is delivering Howard Dean to lead the DNC, which has not been good for his party. The DNC lags far behind the RNC in fundraising, and Democrats across the country are avoiding Dean when he visits their states.

What Kos fails to understand is that the greater influence he does have in the Democratic Party, the more Republicans are going to win. And if he wants to ignore that fact, by all means, he should continue what he's doing. Kos not only suffers from delusions of grandeur, but he also harbors delusions that he is in the mainstream, and that Republicans and moderate Democrats are not.

Has Kos ever tried to step back and really look at what's going on and figure out if he is really helping his party? Perhaps his goal isn't so much to help his party at all, but rather to inject his radicalism into his party to make it more a reflection of himself. He may like what he sees in the mirror, but Mainstream America has been rejecting his movement and his candidates, and will continue to do so. Still, he believes enough in what he's doing, he'll resort to "mutiny" to achieve the Democratic Party he wants.

America, on the other hand, will vote for the candidates we want, and they won't be the Kos-Democrats.

Kos's God complex rears its ugly and delusional head again. Thankfully, he'll take the Democratic party down with him.

Markos supported Stephanie Herseth in her successful campaign for a Minnesota U.S. House Seat. But why let facts get in the way of a perfectly good lie, right?

Isn't he 0-20 in elections so far? His hubris reminds me of Moveon.org's statements to the Democrats after Kerry's loss in '04:

In a December 9th e-mail signed by “Eli Pariser, Justin Ruben, and the whole MoveOn PAC team,” the Soros front group stated: “In the last year, grassroots contributors like us gave more than $300 million to the Kerry campaign and the DNC, and proved that the Party doesn't need corporate cash to be competitive. Now it's our Party: we bought it, we own it, and we're going to take it back.”

Apparently, Nancy, Kos is now 1-20 in elections (see Craig's post). It is an impressive record, don't you think? I certainly hope he takes that power position in the Democrat Party. The Dems can use some wishful thinki....ur......good stratedgy for the upcoming elections.
