Democrats Just Don't Get ItSenate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., urged his Senate colleagues "to note how similar General Casey's apparent plan to withdraw U.S. forces is to the plan put forward by Senate Democrats last week." That plan was rejected by majority-party Republicans.How similar was it? Kerry called for the removal of troops by July 2007. General Casey's plan was a troop reduction, not a total withdrawal. Further, the generals on the ground are going to make the call on how many troops are needed in Iraq, not the Democrats in the Senate.
