Bogus Polls Keep Leftwingers Happy

The latest being the NBC/WSJ poll...a completely useless poll of 1,010 adults (not "registered voters" and not "likely voters" - "adults"...meaning that some large percentage of the sample are people who get their views from daytime television and wouldn't show up to vote if you put a gun to their head). As I said, it is making lefties happy...they've once again got visions of Congressional majorities and impeached Presidents in their heads, I guess. It is going to come as a severe blow to them when in November real voters show up and produce real results - and results which are likely to be 180 degrees out of kilter with this year's polling...and that, of course, will give us another round of leftwing conspiracy thoeries about how the GOP stole the election.

If the GOP were going down in flames, then in moderately red States like Virginia and Tennessee, the GOP would be having some difficulty...but in Virginia Republican Senator George Allen continues to cruise towards easy re-election, while over in Tennessee likely GOP Senate nominee (to fill the seat of retirnig Bill Frist) Bob Corker is 12 points up over the likely Democratic nominee, Harold Ford, Jr., who is one of the really bright, rising stars of the Democratic Party. I'm not saying that if the GOP were in trouble that we'd lose these two races - but if we were in trouble, then these races would be a heck of a lot closer than they are. Heck, even our most vulnerable GOP Senators - Santorum in Pennsylvania and Chaffee in Rhode Island - are not witten off by any political pundits out there.

Over at Rasmussen they have a survey of private and business attitudes, and both are in healthy shape as regards people's views of America's future. Personally, I don't know why NBC and the rest of the MSM keep producing these polls...I'm only joking when I say they are desiged to buck up lefties...or am I? I'm not so sure anymore.

Keep drinking the koolaid, Mark.

Perhaps this more targeted poll of the 50 most contentious house seats is more your style? Or will you dismiss it out of hand because it was done by NPR?

winnowhead,

I don't dismiss the survey out of hand. I dismissed it when I came across the part that showed that the Democrats had a 51-37 lead over the GOP on the moral/values issue. Honestly now, any survey that states that is not worth anything. There is no way in the world that the Dermocrats come even close to being ahead of the GOP on those issues much less 14 points ahead!!!!

We're not the one's drinking the Kool-Aid.

The only way the GOP loses this fall is if Republicans don't turn out. The Dem's have no message that resonates with the people. I suggest you read their 6 point Democratic party platform and then compare that with the hiearchy of issue listed in the poll. The issues the Dem's are going to run on are near the BOTTOM of the list of importance to the voters.
