France: Iran Is a "Stabilizing" ForceWhat the hell are the French smoking?
Iran is a significant, respected player in the Middle East which is playing a stabilizing role, French Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy said Monday, during a visit to Lebanon.They've gone from mere cheese-eating surrender monkeys to absolute lunatics if they really believe Iran, which arms and supports Hizballah and is building nuclear weapons to dominate the Persian Gulf, is a "stabilizing" force. Unless your idea of stability is that we all live under sharia law."It was clear that we could never accept a destabilization of Lebanon, which could lead to a destabilization of the region," Douste-Blazy said in Beirut.
"In the region there is of course a country such as Iran - a great country, a great people and a great civilization which is respected and which plays a stabilizing role in the region," he told a news conference.

When will we stop being amazed that France is an enemy of the USA. They oppose all that we do and they embrace, encourage and supply our adversaries. Other than allowing us to save their ass in two world wars, they have not supported us since we stopped fighting Great Britain.

I think France is terrified of the 5 million + Muslims who live in France. I think France is afraid that if it doesn't back Muslim nations and Islam, that the 3 weeks of rioting and burning that occured last year will just be a prelude to Muslim terrorism and possible outright civil war in France.
