Bipartisanship in the Senate: No Transparency for Taxpayers

It seems that the only sentiment that attracts bipartisan support in the Senate is contempt for taxpayers. How else to explain the broadly supported secret hold put on Sens. Tom Coburn's and Barack Obama's bill to create a searchable database that would allow citizens to identify the sponsor of every single earmark, porkbarrel budget item. Only 13 Senators have issued official denials, which means that either 87 have holds or are providing cover for the offending Senator. This bill is not even about cutting spending, just providing taxpayers with full transparency to see what our Senators our doing. The fact that these politicians would put up a fight to prevent us from knowing what they are doing says a lot...and it's a bipartisan affliction.
