Joe Biden is a reliably partisan Democrat. But, contrary to most Democrats with their empty critiques of the Bush administration, at least Biden puts forward a plan for Iraq. Whether or not it is feasible and realistic, much less superior to the current plan, I'll leave to others to determine. The point is that he lays out specific ideas with mature prose and doesn't lapse into inane and childish name-calling. If more Democrats behaved this way, our nation could have more substantive debates than we do now and we'd be better off for it (it would be nice if Biden would extend this behavior to his role on the Judiciary committee where he's just another filibustering, truth-twisting hack).
While Iraq is certainly a problem, Iran is the single biggest threat to America and I'd like to hear Biden's specific thoughts on how to counter it. The UN and "international community" are failing miserably and a nuclear Iran is a nightmare whose ramifications are unthinkable. If Iran is allowed to go nuclear, as the UN track will, it won't be too many years down the road before we will look back and think that whatever the cost of military action today, it would have been far cheaper than the price the world will be paying in perpetuity for not having stood firm.
