Kudos to Rangel and Pelosi

Sometimes it seems that the bitter partisanship in Washington is so visceral that there is no more sense of unity as Americans at all. While they may be way to the left and out of the mainstream on many issues, Charlie Rangel and Nancy Pelosi stepped up when it mattered when it comes to Hugo Chavez's zany UN rant. Rangel:

'You do not come into my country, my congressional district, and you do not condemn my president. If there is any criticism of President Bush, it should be restricted to Americans, whether they voted for him or not. I just want to make it abundantly clear to Hugo Chavez or any other president, do not come to the United States and think because we have problems with our president that any foreigner can come to our country and not think that Americans do not feel offended when you offend our Chief of State'
Pelosi:
One of President George W. Bush's fiercest political opponents at home took his side on Thursday, calling Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez a "thug" for his remark that Bush is like the devil.

"Hugo Chavez fancies himself a modern day Simon Bolivar but all he is an everyday thug," House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi said at a news conference, referring to Chavez' comments in a U.N. General Assembly speech on Wednesday.

"Hugo Chavez abused the privilege that he had, speaking at the United Nations," said Pelosi, a frequent Bush critic. "He demeaned himself and he demeaned Venezuela."

After the Cold War, the world splintered into many disparate interests. It now appears to be coalescing around 2 poles again: a U.S.-centric group of democracies and a grouping of dictatorships (Iran, Venezuela, North Korea, etc.) united by nothing but animosity towards America. We are living in important times and it is nice to see that even Democrats can sometimes realize this and condemn a dictator even though he defines himself, as they do, by his hatred of President Bush.

I cannot believe you do not see the hypocrisy of both Pelosi and Rangel! They have been the lead offenders of donks who have provided Chavez with all of his talking points!

Go back and listen to the perverse and vitriolic sound bites from these two partisans. They have handed Chavez everyone of his slams against our President! That you would see this as a "positive" is a shock to me!

Surely, you realize that Pelosi and Rangell have discovered some back lash out there from the ugly and disgusting rants of Hugo Chavez bashing our President. According to Pelosi and Rangell, it is not okay for a foreign dictator to bash Bush on our soil, but, of course, it is okay for the two of them to do so? Give me a break! Their hateful partisan rhetoric has gone on for years, providing Chavez and other dictators with nasty talking points. These two are merely playing politics and have no desire to suppor Bush ever.

What a joke Pelosi and Rangell are.
