Get Angry

The actual title of the NRO Editorial is "Get Indignant", but I think "Get Angry" works a bit better:

Republicans should say, “Yes, of course we wish we had found out sooner about Foley’s perversion, but there was no question of his staying as soon as it become clear what he was doing, and we resent any attempt to smear our party with the disgusting wrongdoing of one twisted man.”

They should contrast their treatment of Foley — who left after it became clear he had been sending sexual messages to pages — with the Democrats’ tolerance of former congressman Gerry Studds (who had sex with a 17-year-old male page), current congressman Barney Frank (who had a relationship with a male prostitute who ran a prostitution ring out of his apartment), and Bill Clinton (who had oral sex with an intern in the Oval Office). Which party holds its members to the higher standard of personal conduct? The Democrats, who still have Rep. William Jefferson of $90,000-in-the-freezer fame in their caucus, or the Republicans, who never would have tolerated Foley’s presence after the revelations?

The Democratic Party - the Party that sacrificed itself to protect Bill Clinton from his sexual misconduct - presumes to lecture us on sexual misconduct? I don't think so...we GOPers do have a few planks in our eyes, but Democrats have whole lumber rooms stuck in theirs.

I was saying it back in 1998, and I'll keep saying it all my life - if a man can't keep himself on the straight and narrow in his personal life, then he's certain to fall in to immorality in his public life. Bill Clinton committed adultery, and also massive campaign finance law violations. It is all of a pattern: you either do, or you do not, attempt to adhere to correct morality. The GOP attempts to - and, of course, like all human groupings, there is massive failure in this attempt...but at least we try. Democrats don't even try - and thus their hypocritical moralising over Foley's sexual misconduct just grates on the nerves.

Not too long ago, Democratic hatchet man Begala was calling us moral pygmies - the man represents a Party which has Ted Kennedy, Gary Studds, Bill Clinton, William Jefferson, Jesse Jackson, Cynthia McKinney, Jim McDermott and Barney Frank and we're the moral pygmies? I don't think so - warts and all, we're miles ahead of the Democrats in trying to do the right thing. Its time we started really hitting back.

Don't be afraid - get out there and fight. The Democrats think they've got us down and that they'll just waltz in to a Congressional majority by benefit of a political dirty trick - don't let them. Go to the GOP and volunteer - fight it out, and let the wisdom of the American people decide who shall prevail.
