Majority Whip Roy Blunt wants to know if a Pelosi-led House would defend marriage.
"Beginning in 1996 with the Defense of Marriage Act and in subsequent years with votes on the Federal Marriage Amendment, House Republicans have fought to defend the will of the people each time a court has sought to redefine marriage. "The Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi has opposed each and every one of these efforts. "Given the actions of the New Jersey Supreme Court today and the fact that similar cases are pending in four other courts, the American people deserve to know whether a Pelosi-led House would defend marriage." 45 states acting by referendum or through their legislatures have enacted state laws or state constitutional amendments blocking same-sex marriage. Yet, activists continue to seek to use the courts to overturn these laws. In fact, cases similar to the New Jersey case are currently pending in California, Connecticut, Iowa and Maryland.Senator John Cornyn:
“Today’s court decision affirms yet again that the people should determine the definition of traditional marriage, not activist judges. We continue to see that traditional marriage between a man and a woman is under attack. This decision is yet another reminder that a constitutional amendment is necessary to protect traditional marriage from activist judges. “When given the choice, Americans vote overwhelmingly in favor of preserving traditional marriage because they know it is in the best interest of our society, and particularly our children. Yet, in equally overwhelming numbers, Senate Democrats have blocked passage of the Federal Marriage Amendment, and opposed mainstream nominees to the federal judiciary. “There is a clear difference between Republicans and Democrats on this issue – Republicans support mainstream nominees who respect the Constitution, while Democrats too often side with activist judges who believe laws can be interpreted according to their desires.”

I doubt Pelosi would EVER defend the marriage between a man/women union-she is so leftist in her views, she panders to all things 'out there'...her pandering to the San Fran crowd, NAMBLA is just too freaky, and she is over the top, in all her opposition to anything traditionalist in our country. This woman is just plain scarey, and I wish Ads showing her rants and raves would be used before this election, to show people "what the REAL Nancy Pelosi is truly all about" - The GOP needs to
act on this Ad Immediately- it is a fight to the end with these Obstructionists.
