Vanity Fair has a really interesting profile of John McCain, and Hotline On Call has picked out some really interesting portions of it:
An ex McCain aide: "Yes, he's a social conservative, but his heart isn't in this stuff. But he has to pretend [that it is], and he's not a good enough actor to pull it off. He just can't fake it well enough."
McCain, asked about immigration politics in Wisconsin: "In the short term, it probably galvanizes our base," he said. "In the long term, if you alienate the Hispanics, you'll pay a heavy price. By the way, I think the fence is least effective. But I'll build the goddamned fence if they want it."
Purdum says McCain's temper "is not so much worse that that of many other politicians I have known." But McCain "wastes no time on niceities."

It'll be a sheer pleasure to go vote to block McCain - for so many many many reasons - not least of which is McCain Feingold, and the Bill against torture of terrorist prisoners, meant solely to insult our military.
The man who was Hanoi John's FIRST CHOICE to share his ticket...
No language has filthy enough words to express what I think of this person.
