Democrats Plan Tax Hike; Republicans Must Educate Taxpayers

Why do Democrats have such a love of tax hikes? Who knows. But they're quite predictable.

Democrats are not ruling out raising taxes for the wealthiest people to help pay for tax cuts for middle-income families, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said.
She's been Speaker less than a week and already she's planning a tax hike. Oh yeah, that old saw about only taxing the wealthiest Americans? That's what the AMT was for and it now traps 23,000,000 Americans. If Republicans are smart, they'll be able to use this against the Democrats. But who said Republicans were smart?

With tax revenues flooding the Treasury, it is an objective fact that the Bush 2003 tax cuts not only have not exacerbated the deficit, but have cut the deficit (Ms. Pelosi, please call Mr. Laffer).

Federal receipts rose by 14.6% in fiscal 2005, another 11.8% in 2006, and kept rising by 9% in this year's first two months despite slower GDP growth.
The fact that the MSM can still talk about tax cuts in terms of their "cost" to the government and contribution to the deficit means that Republicans have been utterly abysmal on this topic. Boehner and McConnell should make it their mission that every member of the Republican caucus should daily recite the truth about the Bush tax cuts until the public understands that the Democratic/MSM spin is an out-an-out lie.

The GOP had 6 years to fix the AMT mess, but chose instead to continually cut taxes on the highest income brackets.

Most Democrats ran on the platform of reversing Bush's tax cuts on the highest earners. They are doing what we elected them to do.

"Why do Democrats have such a love of tax hikes? "

It funds slush funds, and drains resources from the Conservatives, helping to prevent them from resisting the policies of the Dims.

What else!

What really scares me is what they are planning
to do with the fica taxes .What they do will effect our economy big time. Can you imagine
everyone that works contributing 25% of their wages and recieving very little when they need it. Social security is great if you are in the administration of it in the government or a freeloader that never pays a dime . The problem will be that many workers will be unable to save for themselves on their own if the government takes so much for all the give me programs.
President Bush still can veto until @008
I think we need to reenergize republican
Ideas.
