Republicans Block House Pay Raise

Looks like Democrats tried to sneak in a congressional pay raise today, but Republicans called them on it and blocked it. Whew!

This is a really confusing article. The beginning does make it seem as if the Dem leadership is trying to push for a COLA raise. Ostensibly, there excuse is that they passed a minimum wage increase, so they are entitled to a COLA increase.

But then the END of the article makes it seems as if the Democrats were trying to delay the implementation of last year's COLA increase for a few weeks, hoping that the minimum wage bill will pass and be implemented by that time. And the Republicans blocked that. So the Dems gave up on THAT.

Honestly, I don't know what the article is telling me. I find it funny that Roy Blunt is crying foul on the COLA stuff, though.

They should figure out how much silver it takes to pay each of them them, and split it up into thirty pieces.
