House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she might decline the use of Air Force planes to travel from Washington to her San Francisco district because the Pentagon won't guarantee her an aircraft that can make the trip non-stop.Seriously, she's just trying to make it sound as if her real goal is non-stop travel to her home district, instead of a wanting to be able to shuttle around family and supporters and all that. Give me a break.``I have said that I am happy to ride commercial if the plane they have doesn't go coast to coast,'' Pelosi said today.
Fly jetBlue Nancy... It's a nice airline.

Matt, what reason to you have that flying non-stop to CA is NOT here real reason for her request?
To quote Tony Snow, you're being "silly." Though, I'd use a slightly different word. "Hack" comes to mind.

Matt,
There is NO reason for you to assume Pelosi wants the plane for any other reason than non-stop flight.
Exhibit A
~It wasn't her idea to have the plane. It was suggested by the House Sergeant-at-Arms, who's been serving in his post for 11 years. It isn't just Pelosi and Democratic partisans saying that he did this. He's admitted to it publicly.
If this was being denied to say, Denny Hastert, you guys would be have a FIT. Like it or not, Nancy Pelosi is second in line to the Presidency. Her safety IS national security.
Should Bush have to fly JetBlue when he wants to go to Crawford?

Nova, this is EXACTLY why Matt and his ilk are such hacks... and bad for this country.
This is a small story relatively, but his actions speak volumes about how he operates. Despite evidence to the contrary, he assumes Pelosi asked for a larger jet (which she didn't) so she could shuttle herself, friend and cohorts around, wasting taxpayers money while we're at war.
He basically just MAKES SH*T UP to paint a false, unattractive picture of the leaders of the party he opposes... even when the head of his party defends Pelosi on this issue. It's just sooooo wrong and so idiotic on so many levels. And this coming from a blog that regularly (and incorrectly) attacks the media for bad reporting.
I don't know how anyone can take this guy seriously.
