Seems that Madame Speaker's free ride on her "cafeteria Catholicism" is coming to an end - details over at Battle Born Politics.
I was born to a Catholic family, raised in the Catholic Church, went to Catholic school, and most Catholics I know beieve in and use birth control, despite the Church's condemnation of same. I don't think any human being can be 100% in compliance with any ideology, nor are most of us inclined to accept everything any church teaches.

PM,
It is true that a lot of Catholics use birth control, but that is more a result of the Church's failure to properly instruct the faithful in the Culture of Life. Most Catholics in the 60's and 70's got the impression that using birth control wasn't that big a deal as far as the Church was concerned, and only now is that long-standing error being rectified.
And, as you no doubt remember from your Catholic school days, it is 100% certain that none of us will live up to the fullness of Catholic teaching - even the saints fell short...and far short, at that. But the fact that we fail to do the best does not mean we should say that the best isn't important. We are to keep striving, and trusting that Our Lord will carry us through to salvation.
The problem with Pelosi and the other Catholic politicians who are overt supporters of abortion is that what they are doing puts their souls in mortal peril - as well as bringing dishonor upon the Church they claim to be part of. They must become all one thing, or all the other...
