Rangel's Breathtaking Hypocrisy
by Mark Noonan at 06:30 PM

I happened to catch a bit of Rep. Rangel (D-NY) on Fox News Sunday as I puttered around the kitchen - when asked what Democrats should do with William Jefferson (D-LA) who is at the center of a Congressional bribery scandal, Rangel asserted that Jefferson should be presumed innocent until proven guilty. This is an amazing bit of hypocrisy coming from a Democrat like Rangel.

You see, back in April of 2005, Rangel had this to say about Rep. Tom DeLay (R-TX):

"What he (DeLay) is doing by stonewalling these accusations, the clouds of corruption are not just on the Republicans but the entire House."

Rep. Charles Rangel (D-NY) | New York Daily News, 4/18/05

Rep. DeLay wasn't indicted until September of 2005 - five months later. And yet Rangel was saying that this un-indicted and thus innocent-until-proven-guilty man was bringing a cloud of corruption upon the entire United States House of Representatives. What we really have from Rangel on Fox News Sunday is a cloud of...well...you know, the stuff that comes out of the hindquarters of a bull.

This is the sort of thing Matt and I found again and again as we wrote Caucus of Corruption...had we the time and inclination, we probably could have made the book twice as long as it is merely by featuring the hyprocritical quotes of Democratic politicians on the subject of corruption. We really need to work hard, Republicans, to get hypocrits like this Rangel out of power in 2008...heck, it is our moral duty.

Remember now: Charlie doesn't even buy green bananas.

This jerk is one of the worst hypocrits in Congress; I have to endure him on Hannity's show a lot. He makes me sick.

Does that make you a hypocrite for not only defending Delay, but requesting an endorsement from him for your book?

Why not focus your energy concentrating on removing and preventing people like DeLay and Jefferson from being in Congress first
