I've notice quite a few interesting things over the past couple weeks.
I can't begin to explain how many different email lists I'm on. But one thing I can tell you is that in the past month or so, I've been getting regular updates on the potential candidacy of Fred Thompson. Now, as Fred Thompson official entry into the 2008 has become closer and closer the past couple weeks, I've noticed an increasing trend of anti-Mitt Romney stories being sent over from Fredheads.
Coincidence? I doubt it. While various national polls suggest Giuliani and McCain are the frontrunners, Mitt Romney has certainly proven to have a great organization fighting for him, particulary in Iowa and New Hampshire, which most people recognize as being the two early states you have to do well in to survive past the primaries. Mitt Romney is also the only frontrunner participating in the Ames Straw Poll.
There's also been attacks from the Brownback campaign targeting Romney. Brownback clearly hopes that the absence of McCain and Giuliani from the Ames Straw Poll will give him an opportunity to gain some much needed traction in the polls.
In addition to that, it is now being reported that the McCain campaign has purchased an anti-Mitt web domain.
What does this mean? Well, it likely means that in the eyes of the frontrunners, Mitt Romney is considered the guy to beat, even to Fred Thompson, whose best day during the primary campaign has probably already come and gone.
i heard that Walmart has been lobbying in favor of the president's immigration bill. is this true??? has anyone heard anything more about this?
